Afsana Ara Bindu is a celebrity performer in Bangladeshi showbiz industry, she won the first runner up prize in Lux Channel i Super Star competition, 2006. It was the beginning of her career.
Bindu’s dream was not like this, she even didn’t dream to be a doctor or engineer like other children. She had some peculiar dreams. ‘Bindu’ is a Bangla word which means ‘Point’ or something tiny. But actress Bindu is not a point in Bangladeshi showbiz world now. She is a popular and prominent figure here.
Late Bangla film hero Salman Shah was Bindu’s favorite performer and his film and television dramas made Bindu interested to media.
Bindu’s family is a culturally oriented family. Her father worked with a theater. Her father Afsar Ali and mother Raushun Ara dreamt that their first child Bindu (Bindu has a younger brother also) will be a doctor, but they also encouraged Bindu in cultural activities. Bindu was not interested to participate in the Lux Superstar competition, but her mother registered Bindu’s name on last possible day.
Earlier it was declared by prominent director Toukir Ahmed that he will take three actresses for his film Daruchini Dwip form that year’s (2006) LUX channel i competition winners. The story of the film was written by noted novelist and director Humayun Ahmed. Bindu acted in the film after winning the Lux Channe i competition. Later she acted in several other films including Piriter Agun Jole Digun, Jago and Eito Prem. But Bindu is not interested to silver screen any more. She wants to continue on small screen.
Bindu did modeling for some products like Aktel, Lux, Finlay Tea, etc. Now she is working for single episode television dramas and television serials.
Bindu was born on 14th January, 1988. She passed SSC exam from YWDCA school of Dhanmondi and then passed HSC from Dhaka Commerce College. Then she admitted herself to IBA of Jahangirnagar University, she received BBA degree from there
