Nadia Ahmed is a popular dancer and actress. Actually She is a dancer and later started acting. She participated at Notun Kuri (Bangladesh Television’s cultural competition for children) competition in 1991, studied at Viqarunnisa Noon School and college. Later did MBA. Her first appearance on television was back in 1986 in a child magazine ‘Shishu Mela’ on Bangladesh Television and became a little star. Her first modeling was for elegance sweater when she was only a student of class six.
She started to learn dancing at Shishu Academy (Children’s Academy) and then did a seven year long diploma on dancing from BAFA (Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts) besides her academic course. She learned from some prominent performers like Shiblee Mohammad, Shameem Ara Neepa and Tamanna Rahman.
Her first appearance as an actress was BTV’s drama serial ‘Baro Rokom Manush’ in 1992, which was a very popular serial at that time. She worked for many popular single episode television dramas and drama serials. Projapoti mon, Suborno Sopna,, Nandini, Shayal pondit, Mokbul etc are some of the popular dramas acted by her.
Likhon-Nadia dance couple became very popular after Shiblee-Shameem Ara couple. Nadia married another popular model and actor Shimul. They spent their honeymoon at Kathmandu and Nadia thinks, that’s the best time she spent in life. Nadia prefers dancing than acting and running a dance school, ‘Nrittokotha’. She is little disappointed that today’s students and their guardians are keen to become a dancer and to perform on television, but they do not want to spend time for learning.
